Wire tying is an essential part of the baling process, and there are two main types of wire tying we provide, each tailored to specific baler types and materials. Understanding these methods can help optimize the efficiency and convenience of your baling operations.
For channel balers, the tying system is integrated into the baler itself. This system utilizes up to five wires simultaneously, securely strapping them around the bale. To accomplish this, up to ten coils of black annealed, slightly oiled wire are employed, typically with a diameter of 3.2mm. This method is particularly well-suited for baling materials such as cardboard, paper, certain film and plastic products, as well as dry RDF/SRF. By utilizing multiple wires, this process ensures a tight and stable hold on the bale, enhancing its integrity and stability.
A different approach is employed for our ME2R Twin Ram balers. With this method, a single strapping device ties a wire around the bale as it is being extruded from the baler. This technique offers greater versatility, as you can determine the number of wires to be used based on the specific material being processed. Generally, an 11-gauge (2.9mm) diameter coil of Extra High tensile galvanized wire is employed for this purpose. For instance, when baling cardboard, fewer straps may be necessary, while more straps could be utilized for plastic materials. Since this tying process is performed externally to the baling process, it allows for greater convenience when it comes to cleaning and servicing the equipment.
