Building Extension for External Storage Bays
The solution included a new building extension with civil works, in order to house in floor sections of the sorting system. As well as an infeed conveying line and external storage bays, there was also an elevated picking station (complete with TV monitoring and variable belt speed control) installed. Additionally, an Overband Magnet and an Eddy Current Separator were also provided.
The remaining plastic in the waste stream is then fed through a Middleton Engineering Bottle Perforator. Finally, Storage bays were also provided for the collection of sorted materials, prior to them being processed by a Fully Automatic Scapa Middleton ME2R80 Twin Ram Baler with infeed conveyor. Since the installation of the MRF in 2015, recycling in Methryr Tydfil was up a huge 25% in just a year.
